Rolling down the highway, next stop the Horney's in Huntley. They have so graciously invited us to visit them in Huntley for years but it always seemed so far away from the city...and I was right. Actually located in a bucolic farm area or I should say former...now more like a Chicago suburb. Jerry was my boss at St. Joseph Hospital/Chicago post grad school. As he mentioned to Bubba he tried desperately to whip me into shape, and could see Bubs had no luck over the years as well..
Jerry and his lovely wife Nancy have visited us in Florida over the years and we always laugh ourselves silly with their wicked sense of humor. Fabulous daughter, Kathy and her daughter stopped over to join the visit as well. Kathy did some babysitting for our son Nick when we lived in Evanston and in spite of that experience went on to become an elementary school teacher. Go Kathy!
Nancy saved a special cookie for Bubba from her fierce campaign days. You can imagine how thrilled Bubba was to receive such an offering-THE OBAMA COOKIE- I heard him mumble "not good for one's waistline or pocketbook".
He did try to counter the house political persuasion by answering Audrey's questions about her book, FIRST DAUGHTER. Bubs had fun explaining what the Secret Service did taking care of first daughters....per Bub there were some doozies. Their granddaughter is absolutely adorable and once again reminding ol'Boca that having one is still on her To Do List. Hey, how about a FIRST GRANDDAUGHTER book Audrey?
