DAY 15 JULY 21 THE DIVINE DOOR- more Wisconsin fun!

and how about the Emotions Anonymous.  I kid you not.  This 12 step support group meets at the Lutheran Church on Mondays.  I wonder what the criteria for membership is?  Am I eligible?  Too much?  Too little?

PENINSULA STATE PARK
One of my very favorite spots and right across from Cousin Bob's place...very cool.  Established in 1909, Peninsula State Park is Wisconsin's most popular camping destination.  Eight miles of Green Bay shoreline wrapped around northern hardwood forests, wetlands, meadows and 150 foot high dolostone cliffs.  Dolostone?   Boca suggested that Bubba consider applying for driving the park trolley if he liked it so much...Bubba's Bus?  Three quarters of the park's 3776 acres are undeveloped.  And yes Buba there's a reason for that- hello bugs and mosquito's.

BUBBA'S FANTASY- GRILLIN AND CHILLIN
There are 468 family campsites and Bubs was "itching"  (another bad pun, sorry) to try one out. Bubba likes to go where the wild things are and get in touch with his inner Neanderthal.   Come on honey, let's give it a rip.  When Boca saw the sign "Alcohol allowed in the Park"....she figured worth the drive around to check it out. Bubba spent the rest of the afternoon trying to convince  her of the finer details of camping and that she ought to reconsider her hell to the no.

There's a reason there is a net over everything Bubba.  And all those kids???????  What peace and quiet?  Where's the Starbucks?  Where do I plug in all my stuff?  We don't have a Mini Van.  There's not enough Off in Wisconsin to cover me.  It costs money to stay here?  The next thing you'll get is a Tandem bike.  Oh no- Kayak for me thank you very much.  Neighborly songs around the fire- oy Kumbaya.  Lint from your navel makes a handy fire starter Bubs.  You can duplicate the warmth of a down filled sleeping bag by climbing into a plastic bag with several geese Bubba.

Can you imagine my granny panties flapping in the breeze?  They would want to borrow for their sail boats.

BUBBA'S VERSION
Wedded Bliss.  Unlimited Smores.  Wifi in the Woods?  And the guitar fo the noisy teenager at the next camp makes excellent kindling.    We can even have you get a degree Boca!

AND MAY I QUOTE MY PAL SHEILA FROM SOUTH CAROLINA- " HAY-ELL NO!"

THANK THE DEAR LORD- TIME FOR FUZZY'S!
Cousin Sue and son Petey came over from Green Bay to fine dine with us at Fuzzy's.  Spare no expense Bubba.  Nothing  but the best for my family.

Ok, ya had to try the Cherry Margarita at Fuzzy's or you could have go with the Cherry Bomb- using the peninsulas quintessential ingredient- cherries.   The Cherry Bomb - made with Grey Goose Vodka, Door County Cherry Juice, embody all that is a Door county summer night out.  Now that takes the sunset to a new level.

I had a Fresh Lawyer- yes for dinner!   This is what they call a Burbot- which is a cod like fish that inhabits freshwater areas such as Lake Michigan...and here I thought those bottom feeders were on Michigan Ave...  I did take a pass on the Wheat Beer.  How about some Wheat Wine??  And my ever so favorite Perch.  Do you New Yawkers even know what lake Perch is???  And I had to...the Cheese Curds.  A true delicacy in Wisconsin.  And of course the beer battered Green Beans.  Hey, Bubs, that counts as a veggie right?  Followed by the beer battered french fries.  I couldn't possibly make this up...  Bubba asked what the Potato Encrusted Whitefish was all about.  Don't miss the Whitefish Alfredo- baked in a creamy sauce topped with melted cheddar cheese.  Naturally the traditional Wisconsin Fish Boil (brought here by the Scandinavians) is a part of the landscape as well...

And hey Boca, what is a Supper Club?  Yes Bubs this is a very Midwestern thing- found in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan- usually located in rural areas.  It is a place where guests go to be treated to a full evening of cocktails, dinner and entertainment- mainly American cuisine.  Pretty much basic fare and no frills.  Sounds pretty much like our house Boca....

Doesn't look like this locale is much into eating raw.  I think they once had a Sushi Bar...but I heard it didn't last a month....

And now you know why Boca looks rather petite up this way.
