MARILYN MONROE STATUE AND THE MAG MILE
This 26 foot sculpture draws quite the crowds-smiles and criticisms. A little risque for the old Midwest? The 3 part piece sculpture, by Seward Johnson, depicts Marilyn in an iconic scene from the 1955 movie "The Seven Year Itch". What is the image the artist is portraying? An image that eventually killed her? Bubba is hoping that Johnson's next work for Chicago is a recreating of Sharon Stones pivotal moment in Basic Instinct.
"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."
— Marilyn Monroe
The schlocky statue draws a crowd each day. Everyone has to have their photo taken with va va voom Monroe.
And the guys have their very favorite pose and shot....boys will be boys.
Boca says bring back the cows...
and speaking of the lady who made singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. PRESIDENT a historical event......
THE CASE OF THE MISSING PRESIDENT
After going to war- the political spin war- and working so hard to be transparent- HERE HE IS!
President Obama arrived in Chi town today for some fund raising cleverly disguised as his 50th birthday party-now that is one foxy dude. Skip the card and bring your checkbook. Only $38,000 per couple what a deal. Bubba's not bought into raising that debt ceiling. Hey Bubs, haven't you heard about a bi-partisan compromise? And he replied "Hey Boca, have you heard about the gang of one? And it really wasn't a case of the missing president, it was more like LET THEM EAT CAKE." Anybody up for some humble pie?
Yes, Boca and Bubba hit the road again. This road trip takes them across the Midwest and back to her Chicago roots. So join the corn fed Midwestern gal and Bubs as they head out on the highway. Bubba at the wheel of the Q is happy this years road trip should be fewer miles than previous logged on the road again ventures. Yea! We look forward to Family, Friends, Fisher Houses, Forests and Faith. So come along for the ride- Happy Trails!
