Dawnie also wanted us to meet a few of her other customers. Some work at U.S. TRUST/ Bank of America in the Wealth department and a few other brave souls from the Federal Reserve, and a retiree or two and other interesting organizations. Chicago is quite the financial hub- not only the CBOE and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange but a whole lot of dough and opportunity and action occurs in this district. I think Dr. Young, Chair Department of Management, DePaul University got a kick out of meeting some of the gang.
Loved this fellow- John. Works for the Harvard Business Review. Hey Boca, why don't you write something for the HBR? Hey kid, I'm too busy blogging about hot dogs and such.
Everybody loves Dawnie. Operating as their Barber but really a LIFE COACH for many. She advises them not only on hair, or lack there of, kids, wives, gifts, vacations, cars and her favorite SPORTS. It was really fun to meet some of customers and discuss issues in the financial markets. Oy OY. Make that a a Grey Goose on the rocks please. No Chardonnay for these discussions.
Hey, what does the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago do? It is one of 12 regional Reserve Banks across the U.S.- together with the Board of Governors in D.C. serve as the central bank for the U.S. Yes, let's hear it for promoting financial stability. Yup, this bank participates in the formulation and implementation of national monetary policy; supervises and regulates state member banks, bank holding companies and foreign bank branches; and provides financial service to depository institutions and the U.S. government. It employees 1,289 employees and has 2,585 depository institutions in this district. And Bubs liked this statistic- 20 counterfeit notes are found per day. Bubba's old stomping grounds in the SS was Chi Town late 70's and early 80's. In 2010 this branch received and counted $41.5 billion and destroyed $4.4 billion in unfit currency. Hey, I thought Obama was doing a good job of that.
And how bout that U.S.Trust- you bet wealth and worth are not synonymous Yeah Yeah we are with the competitor Northern Trust so we were all ears hearing about MARKET VOLATILITY. Any insights gentlemen? And how about these past 2 weeks- that DOWNSIDE volatility. And now the U.S is downgraded. Wonderful. Bubba watches his IPAD and IPHONE like a crack addict in Hollywood. So what should our strategy be for our portfolio- for what is left of it!! Yeah sure "we will stay focused and maintain discipline through all of this". Ok Bubs, get a shoe box and let's just put what's left under the bed. What? Oh have to wait to a change in Washington to do that Boca- they just keep printing and printing. Have another Jack Black Bubs and cool down. It's a party.
And thank you Mike and his wonderfully talented sister Barb for preparing some scrumptious food. Your continual and constant kindness to my mom is appreciated. Have a great time in Spain with the ladies John. Safe travels and have one or many on me! And thank you Dawnie for introducing us to some of your very braniac customers. Really enjoyed meeting each and everyone. I am hoping there are some gals in the mix....ok I get it, no Barber Pole for them. I am curious about the percentage of ladies in the Chicago financial game?
Yes, Boca and Bubba hit the road again. This road trip takes them across the Midwest and back to her Chicago roots. So join the corn fed Midwestern gal and Bubs as they head out on the highway. Bubba at the wheel of the Q is happy this years road trip should be fewer miles than previous logged on the road again ventures. Yea! We look forward to Family, Friends, Fisher Houses, Forests and Faith. So come along for the ride- Happy Trails!
